Message Why not buy a TT in the 1st place - certainly a far cheaper and simpler option then buying a NA and expecting to toss a bunch of money on a conversion.

If you have to pass OBD2 emissions testing in your area then doing a OBD2 compliant conversion is going to be a must and be more of a hassle then just a standard one.

If you don't have emissions testing then you can build to the 0BD1 spec (90-95).

Whats so compelling about this 96 NA to make a conversion worth the trouble?
